Oryx

Passion for Qatar

With a recent change of ownership and brand investment, Oryx- formerly vQTR- is actively recruiting pilots with a renewed focus on simulating real-world operations to a high standard of safety and realism.

We are recruiting for flight deck positions across the entire real-world fleet, historic fleet comprising A340-600 and B747-8F and the associated aircraft leases currently flying with us (A310- ULSCargo, A330-OmanAir, B744-airACT). The commitment to maintain these leases until at least the end of the summer 24 season regardless of real-world changes means there is plenty of months left to build hours and experience on them.

With new aircraft add-ons being released in the future (A380, A350, B737-max8) supplementing already highly popular aircraft within our fleet (B777,B787,A320), the previous VA rules and regulations have been evaluated carefully and adjusted to become more suitably aligned with the operating environment that we simulate. These changes hopefully encourage our pilots to have renewed excitement and passion for simulating our operations, particularly long-haul sectors.

Our short haul routes around the Gulf region are just as exciting, operating the 737 max, Airbus A320 and a selection of widebody and freighter aircraft on shorter routes- all of course based on real-world operations. With the A300 and A310 having a place in Qatar Airways history, this fleet is also simulated. The airline has an order placed for Airbus A321Neo aircraft and that will be fantastic to simulate in the future.

If you have a passion for simulating real-world operations to a safe and realistic standard, we wanted to make you aware of the Oryx concept and offer to consider returning to or joining us in connecting passengers and cargo through Qatar to destinations worldwide.

The big achievement would be to have a truly global pilot base and so in the quiet hours in one region, our pilots on the other continents may be continuing the flying activity instead. A truly 24-hour operation spanning the time-zones, just as our aircraft do.

What makes us special?

Airlines are very protective of their brand, logo and associated trademarks and rightly so. It was very important to maintain a strong respect for the real airline by creating a separate brand that also compliments the culture of the region and simulation of the airline's operations to the high standard it deserves.

Oryx is a new concept that allows us to mix realistic, high standards of flight simulation with the strong passion for the real-world airline that our pilots know and love.

Until our website is complete, new or returning pilots are welcome to make contact in the company discord server at https://discord.gg/9Es62a95fJ
