About us

VELA is a Swiss virtual airline flying the A320 family out of Zurich (ZRH).

We operate a fleet of A320 Series Aircraft, A319, A320 and A321, on a realistic year-round European network, planned and flown the way a real airline does it: published schedules, monthly crew rosters, real dispatch with SimBrief operational flight plans, and SOP discipline per FCOM from pushback to shutdown.

Every pilot gets a callsign, a roster and access to our crew platform: web intranet, a native EFB app for briefing and in-flight use, ACARS datalink and a full tech log for each airframe. Real procedures. Virtual skies.

What makes us special?

Depth of operation. VELA is not a logbook site with a fleet list, it is a working airline ecosystem built from scratch.

Our aircraft live real lives: they fly the schedule even when no crew is aboard, carry tech logs with MEL items and maintenance releases, and their position is always known, at a real gate or en route. Pilots fly monthly rosters generated under flight time limitations, bid for trips, grab open flights and check in through a crew portal, just like the real thing.

The tooling is our own: a native iPad EFB with charts, OFP and navlog, an engineering app for the fleet, ACARS with an OPS desk that actually answers your telex, and dispatch that learns fuel burn from every completed flight.

Small fleet, high standards: we fly the A320 family by the book, out of Zurich, as a crew that flies the plan.

Review VELA Virtual Airlines

Public Review Guidelines

We welcome honest and constructive feedback from pilots. To keep reviews useful and fair, please follow these rules:

  1. Base it on your own experience — You must be a current or former pilot of the Virtual Airline you are reviewing, and only write about what you have personally experienced.
  2. Keep it respectful — No offensive language, profanity, personal attacks, or discriminatory remarks. Criticism is fine, but focus on the airline or its operations, not individuals.
  3. Be specific enough to be meaningful — Helpful reviews include details such as routes, events, community, or support. One-line praise or criticism without explanation may be rejected.
  4. Avoid conflicts of interest — Don’t post if you’re part of a competing Virtual Airline and leaving negative feedback. Don’t review your own airline.
  5. No campaigns or manipulation — Don’t encourage others to post reviews in bulk, whether positive or negative.
How we moderate reviews
  • All reviews are checked by the MNA Team before publishing.
  • We operate on a trust basis — we assume your review is genuine unless there’s a reason to question it.
  • Reviews may be temporarily hidden if they need clarification or breach these rules.
  • If no update is provided when requested, the review may be permanently removed.
  • Initial publication does not guarantee a review will remain visible.
